If NVIDIA is indeed left out of the GPU console bidding war, long-term growth prospects will take a hit. Yet heading into Q4 earnings, bullish sentiment helped the stock price from a mid-January low of $7.21 to $9.87 by February 6th's close. Mainboard shipments will face an uphill battle if computer sales slow at a similar or accelerated pace in 2009. On the bright side, NVIDIA's Tegra applications processor will be integrated for Microsoft's eventual smartphone. But unless economic activity picks up dramatically over the next few quarters, there are better places to trade in the tech sector.
