Following the dot.com bust, Intel settled into a steady trading range around the mid $20's. With the arrival of substantial systemic risk this summer, highlighted by Lehman Brothers failure, Intel along with the tech sector broke through historic trading levels. By the end of the summer, intel slipped further from its normal range and is now trading at a 12-year low. The last time Intel traded in the low-teens was the 2002 recession.
Intel closed at 18.73 on September 30th, dropping 14.42% last month to close at 16.03 on October 31st. The tech space suffered substantial blows, albeit not to the levels of the financial sector, last month due to redemptions and general panic selling.
