Final Thoughts

Health questions surrounding CEO Steve Jobs remain a huge question mark for the iPhone maker. The SEC launched a probe as to disclosures released regarding Jobs' health status. Apple revealed Jobs has a hormonal disorder on January 5th. Jobs physical health had been called into question over the last several months after he was seen looking noticeably thinner. Apple's blowout earnings for the last quarter suggest the firm will be able to weather the recession and any extended leave of absence by Jobs. Declining gross margins are a cause for concern in addition to overarching macro conditions that appear to be worsening. Sector-wide, Apple remains a bright spot.
