Headquartered in Sanford, North Carolina, The Pantry, Inc. (PTRY) is a third largest chain operator of convenience stores in the U.S. The Pantry runs convenience stores under multiple names including The Pantry, Kangaroo Express, Cowboys, Handy Way, Quick Stop, Zip Mart, Fast Lane, Big K, Depot, Mini Mart, and Petro Express.
The Pantry operates roughly 1,600 stores, mostly in the Southeast United States, with over 200 quick service restaurants at some of their convenience store locations.
Mattel was founded in 1945 by Harold Matson and Elliot Handler. In 1959, Handler's wife, Ruth, would create the Barbie brand that would drive Mattel to the forefront of the toy industry and remains the company's best selling product.
