Headquartered in El Segundo, California, Mattel Inc. (MAT) is the world’s largest toy company by revenue. Mattel produces some of the most popular toys on the market including Barbie, Fisher-Price, Power Wheels, Hot Wheels, Polly Pocket!, Matchbox, Tyco, and a wide array of board games.

Mattel employs 25,000 people worldwide with locations in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Central & South America. Mattel recorded $5.9 billion in 2008 revenues.

Mattel was founded in 1945 by Harold Matson and Elliot Handler. In 1959, Handler’s wife, Ruth, would create the Barbie brand that would drive Mattel to the forefront of the toy industry and remains the company’s best selling product.
