McDonalds reports Q4 earnings on January 26th of next year in what is largely expected to be another solid reporting period for the restaurant chain despite a significant downturn in consumer spending. The restaurant chain has stated its objective to focus on Asia/Pacific segments to boost margins in line with U.S. margins.
On December 8th, McDonalds reported what could be considered outstanding comparable sales for the month of November. U.S. comparable sales rose 4.5%, European comparables climbed 7.8%, while Asia/Pacific, Middle East and African sales increased 13.2%. Based on the strong November comparables, most analysts expect McDonalds to post strong fourth quarter numbers yet again.
