Monsanto History

From early 2003 until the stock market crash in mid 2008, Monsanto shares saw steady growth from about $7/share at the company's inception to an all-time high of almost $146/share in June 2008. When the company acquired the Brazilian seed company Agroeste Sementes in 2007, the company saw 30% growth in just over a month from $68/share in late August to $93.50/share in early October. When the market crashed in late 2008, shares reach a low of $67/share in November, although growth has been fairly steady since then reaching just under $90/share in mid-May.

Monsanto Last Month

The predicted rise in corn, wheat, and soybean prices helped to push up the value of Monsanto shares. On April 20, 2009 shares were selling for $78.4/share and on May 19, 2009 they closed at $89.6/share, representing a 14.3% advance.
