The onset of systemic risk sent Barrick shares soaring from June 2007 to January of 2008, hitting a new all-time high above $52/share. The collapse of Lehman Brothers spared no equity prices as Barrick shares tumbled below $23/share in October. A rebound in gold prices over the past several months has helped Barrick recapture $35/share.
