Obama and Tony Blair
Despite having been out of office for a year and a half, Tony Blair was the first major European leader to meet with the new President back in February 2009.
The former Prime Minister of Britain and leader of the Labour party was paid a high compliment by Obama who described Blair as "somebody who did it first and perhaps did it better than I will do." Obama also added that Blair was an "example for so many people around the world of what dedicated leadership can accomplish."
