The joy is in the playing, according to Peanuts character and Beethoven worshipper Shroeder. Clearly, Barack Obama likes playing the politics game. Any why wouldnt he? Hes been winning at it for 12+ years under the guise of someone whos not playing politics as usual.

Obama won election to the Illinois State Senate in 1996 and was subsequently reelected in 1998 and 2002. He crushed Alan Keyes in the U.S. Senate general election by a 70% to 27% margin and then played the 2004 Democratic National Convention like a maestro, securing his place as an up-and-comer on the political scene.

Obamas fierce primary race with Hillary Clinton and subsequent victory would prove to the national scene that he was ready for prime time. The rest was history as Obama would go on to trounce John McCain in the President Election, garnering 52.9% of the popular vote to McCains 45.6%.
