When he was an active player in the NFL, Thurman Thomas had a great career running up, over and around would-be tacklers. Thomas wound up have a very successful career as a football player and was good enough to end up in the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Thurman Thomas became one of the league's superstar backs in his career with the Buffalo Bills (1988-99) and Miami Dolphins (2000). He was tough guy, one capable of carrying the ball 20-25 times per game, and had the durability that was unmatched by few backs of his generation. At the time of his retirement, only NFL great Walter Payton had more total yards from scrimmage than Thurman Thomas, who finished with 12,074 rushing cards and ranks ninth all-time in that category.

Thurman played his college football at Oklahoma State and an injury permitted him to fall into the second round of the NFL draft, where he was snagged by Buffalo. He scored 88 career touchdowns, was named to the Pro Bowl team on five occasions, named first team All-Pro on three occasions and was voted a member of the NFL's 1990s All-Decade Team. He was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.

Thurman was a speaker at the 2009 Traders Super Summit in Orlando.
